    this was the first log cabin quilt i made. I got the book by Elenor Burns "Quilt in a day". Shows this technique..instructions so clear.....each step has a picture...You can't make a mistake...except with this first quilt i learned that 1/4" means 1/4". I learned that lesson...I've made others and they came out perfect.....

    I love this technique. I first learned of it many years ago from Eleanor Burns' Quilt in a Day projects. I like the fact that I can be accurate AND fast!

    I used width of fabric. That said, I used the width of whatever I was using. Fat quarters, leftovers, or the full width of fabric.

    If going more scrappy, I would limit the number used from each fabric.

    I've got a bucket full of 2" strips. going to divide them up in lights & darks and see what I get. Thanks for taking the time to make an easy to understand tutorial.
