I think you're talking about mosaic quilts. Is this what you are looking for:

Tammie Bowser

http://quiltedphoto.com/

I have several of her books and one of the earlier versions of software.

Yes it is Tammie Bowser. I took a class with her when she had version 1.0 out and it is now up to 3.0 Photo Xpress. She also has software called Valuations which allows you to scan your fabric in and then sorts them according to the value!

She is a wonderfully warm person who really takes the time to answer questions and be as helpful as possible!

yes - it's Tammie Bowser. I love her technique! I've made 4 photo quilts so far, and I'm working on another one right now. I think it's just the neatest thing. She's on Facebook, too - you can 'friend' her.

I won some of her software on a Facebook contest by having the most people 'like' my post about it. I love it!

You can just google
Tammie Bowser or Tammie Bowser Mosaic Quilt

and get to her.

Have fun with it!

That's right! Now do you remember what software she used?

The software digitizes your photos and figures out how to make it into a quilt.
Does anyone know her name, software company name, and where I can buy the software?
Thanks!

MaryAnna
