Maybe she is what the excercise police ordered up for you. Daily walks - not to fast. Fresh air and a companion for you and your other dog. Enjoy her while you can.

I've only adopted a cat and he runs the house.

I would love to be able to walk with her. I can do sloooowww walks with my little guy. Any faster and they will be calling 911 for me.:-) My body just can't take it.
I am enjoying her. She will not stay however any longer than it takes to find her a home. I am on a 1 foster at a time diet. Brothers house , Brothers rules. (shrug)
Andy and I walk every day the weather allows. We have a park 2 blocks from the house.
The longer she is here the more I am learning about her and the sorrier I feel for her. Anything in the hand and she is ducking and going the other way. Touch her and she leans away. Poor thing. Lots of work for this one. Forget getting any kind of meds on her she bites. And she has an ear infection. Poor thing.

Well, my friends tell me I'm a nice one! The name is a curse and a blessing. Most people I meet don't realize they are sub-conciously judging my behavior/character with the high expectations of a "Heavenly Angel". Maybe consider the name April, as it has the same beginning and ending sound. Since you have other issues you need to resolve without the dog having identity issues. Most people call me April (or Angela) by mistake.

I too foster and enjoy my "rentals" (as we like to call them). As a military family, we feel it's best for us to only give lifetime commitments to 2 pets max. So fostering is a way for me to get my "pet fix" and take in more pets without the expense (like you said) and moving hassles every 2-3 years.
Best of luck with your new little one. I'm sure you'll gain her trust soon.

No disrepect meant.:-) My name is Sheila so I get called Shelly, Shirley and who knows what else. So I under stand that part.
What a wonderful way to get your animal fix. And can I say thank you on two fronts. For being military and for being a responsible pet owner. We got to the point in GA that we were very wary of adopting to military familys simple because it was like they wanted to adopt for a while and then give them back when they moved.

Oh no, I didn't take it wrong, just trying to say that there might be a few decently nice Angel's around. ;) Yes, military people are REALLY bad about disposable pets. I also screen VERY carefully before adopting out to them. Since I live in a military town I proudly wear a button on my jacket that says "Pets are not disposable" and similar bumper sticker. Some people stop me and say they agree and one teenager asked me what it meant. I always advocate that military make GREAT foster homes, but not neccessarily great permanent homes. Maybe one day I'll reach just one person! Thank you for fostering too. We need more like us.
