That is a very good point.....Management needs to be aware of that.......another big complaint I have is when "able bodied people park in the handicapped spot and use someone elses handcap hanger on their mirror. I see this all the time at Wal-Mart

She walked around her car holding on to the car and she nearly fell a couple of times. I noticed that she kept looking around. So when I got up to her I asked if she needed help to get in the store. Her response was YES, I was looking for a buggy (cart) to use. She also said I wish they would leave a few carts near the handy cap parking spaces. People like me need them.
I just wanted to throw this out there but not as an argument for leaving a cart in the lot for being too lazy. But only as an experience I had.

Always in the cart return, if no back into the store. I took one back into Lowe's yesterday and they thanked me. I never take a handicap cart outside the store and if I see one in the parking lot, I always take it into the store.

I purposely try to always park next to a cart return. It makes it easier to put my cart back, and, if I forget where I parked  , it limits the number of places I have to look!

Yes to the cart corral if they have one.

Yes to the store if they don't.

Absolutely, either to the store or the cart rack. Most of our stores have cart racks in the parking lots, a few are smaller and do not, always return the cart and usually one or two more as lots just leave the cart sit.

Yes, if I use a cart, I put it in the return area. I try not to se a cart, because then I buy way too much.

YES! I'm sorry, but I think people that leave them in a random space are just lazy. Sorry, my opinion. And if you have a child, leave them in the cart, wheel it to the cart return, and carry the kid back.
If you're in a hurry and someone is walking past, ask them if they need a cart. I've done that many times when I see elderly people. I'll take their cart off their hands and use it in the store. They appreciate it.

Absolutely, there are few things that are more frustrating than trying to park your car when there are shopping carts strewn around the lot!
