I think I use the same method to make triangles from the 9 degree triangle template--sew together strips horizontally, then cut vertically? This is really beautiful using the Dresden plate.

Lovely,looks like a lot of work, but what a beautiful quilt you'll have when you're done. If you have any leftover pieces, you could even add a few more rounds and have a terrific center block for a 2nd quilt.

Just went and looked at the tutorial, that's a LOT less work than I expected. Neat! Where did you buy the dresden template?
