I am so sorry for them. I feel their pain. I had my beloved cat grabbed by a hawk, when I lived in Tennessee. I still miss him.

Oh my, this is so, so sad...AND too close to home as we also live in Chattanooga. Our home is in the middle of a heavily wooded area and we have seen coyotes and all sorts of critters here. I just heard an owl outside a few minutes ago. Our little Havanese is precious to us; we must be more careful.

I hurt with them...

We have coyotes too and our dog is 18-1/2 yrs. old so you can imagine how dim her eyesight is, but she can still go outside on her own when she needs to go but we don't allow her in the front yard anymore and we installed a sensor light in the back yard and either my DH or I follow her outside and stick close to her. I'm always looking around and I think I jump at every little noise. Coyotes are really fast, it's so darn scary.

So sorry for them. Heartwrenching. They be in our thoughts and prayers that the Lord will ease their pain.

My heart goes out to them both. I can't imagine the pain they both must feel. It's bad enough to lose a 14 year old dog but this way is beyond tragic.
