Grew up with Mother's Singer and Kenmore machines and used them for years. Have 3 Janome's now (Quilter's Choice, Mid-arm and Embroidery) wouldn't trade them for anything. Use all three constantly with no problems. I do take them in every couple of years for maintenance/cleaning.

I have a Janome 6600P. I like the updated features like the needle threader, thread cutter, speed adjustment. I do have trouble with the thread slipping out of the take up lever and I really hate that as sometimes it will happen often then it doesn't do it for awhile. I love the built in walking foot and the different feet that can go with that. Nice! I got a 1/4" foot from the "Little Foot" company so I could just put on the foot and go. Having to set the needle position to get a 1/4" equivalent wasn't the way I wanted to go for quilt piecing so this works like a charm for me. My other machines have been Berninas. The Janome is very heavy so it's something you think twice about if you're heading for a class or retreat. I love the big table surround for a large available sewing area. One downside is you don't get the sleeve freearm option. All in all I enjoy this machine.

I have the Janome 6500p, embroidery 350e and overlocker. All great and with regular maintenance have never had a problem.

Had a 6500 and traded up to a 6600 a few years ago. Love them both.

I have a Janome 4 thread serger and it has never had a problem. I love it! My main machines are a Pfaff2056 and a Singer XL10000 emb/sewing machine which have both been trouble free also.

I have a MC10000 and a 6600 and love them both. But, I think Janome's customer service has gone down hill in the last few years and it all comes down to if you have a good dealer. I've been reading some complaints lately that shouldn't be happening.

I love my Janome 8077. I would have to say I just started Machine quilting & would like a little wider base but all in all love my machine.
