You know I was kind of thinking a jacket would look nice or a sun dress.

The roses are gorgeous! I would think though that since she picked out THAT fabric, it should really take center stage with the quilt. The simpler, the better. What about the simple stripes of that fabric, rather wide, and thinner strips of coordinating black and green? If you want to get fussy, bind the outside with black and green stripes and put small HST between the border stripes or...really wacky...OBWs between the outside stripes. Hmmmmmmmmmmm...I can see it now..............gorgeous!

I just read some of the other answers and look how many of us mentioned stack and whack!!! I think it has a multifaceted look and stack and whack would be fabulous!

I didn't expect her to choose this fabric as the feature so I'm coming up short on ideas.

Looking for suggestions, please!
Hi i have the answer(well maybe not) first how old is your daughter, (is it for a small child or older child, what are her likes)
1) you could base it on the song "the rose" that Bette Midler sang, if you hear the song or get the words, its about love, roses coming up thru the snow, cut out indivdual roses , have them look like their comimg up thru the snow.

better yet(this fun i dont have to make it but i could) all black background with lots of individual roses, and just a general shape of cuts with wide bright eyes peering thru the roses. they could be looking at the pretty butterflies you will(ofcourse hand sew  ) also the music notes are good they could be over the cats, like the were whiseling  what do you think.
we could all go to your fabric store and help you

slide show pattern ~ that one showcases large prints very well and is simplistic and stylish :)
