I've had a number of Janomes over 30 years - they're still sewing well. At present my main machine is an Horizon - love it - the last one was a 6600p - a disaster - I think I bought a lemon! I have a Gem Platinum as a take with me model, and it's great as well.

Love my 6600. My one complaint about my Jem which was the first model on the market, is that stitch length is limited to short, medium and long. The short stitch is a bit too tight for piecing and the medium is a bit too long. Sometimes the last stitch or two comes loose when handled for piecing. I understand that in subsequent models this problm was resolved with the type of stitch length adjustment I had on my 1959 Featherweight. That was my only machine for many years until it migrated to California with my daughter.

I have a New Home (now Janome) & have done alot of sewing on it in the 20 years I've had it. I do alterations for others and make quilts, table runners, placemats etc. Make most of my gifts for 6 grand kids & 2 great grands. Have'nt had any problems with it. Still love the machine!

I absolutely love my Janome's and Elna which is made by Janome now.

I have an Elna 740 which is the same as the Janome Horizon but I feel it is made much sturdier.

I have had an Janome 6600 love it but traded it for the Horizon

I also have 2030 Janome class machine that is a little wonder. Will sew anything and well done

Finally I have a Elna embroidery machine that is exceptional also it is made by Janome

I have a Horizon and the 3160 and I love them both. I haven't had any problems and the learning curve was short

I have a Janome Memory Craft 3500, purchased it in 1998 and have never had a problem with it, ever. I would highly recommend it.

I LOVE my Janome's. And some day I will inherit a third one. I have the DC3018 and the 8000. The next one will be that 6600 I think that's the number.?
