Wish we were closer! The cutting is the most stressful for me, too!

Cutting is the part of quilting I almost hate. One of the reasons is I don't have a table that is the right height for me and my back starts screaming after about 30 minutes. If I don't have a specific pattern in mind, I search online for precut pieces. If I find the pattern but would like a different fabric, sometimes the seller will cut the other fabric for me. I know it's cheating but this is a hobby and should be relaxing....not a chore. I found a seller on Ebay that had precut Log Cabin kits and I did one for a friend of mine in Scotland and also one for my sister-in-law that turned out very nice!!

Is there a quilt shop that you could go to, to ask for a little help until you find a quilting buddy?

Welcome from Denver! There are nice quilt shops in Parker and Castle rock--just ask someone to give you some helpeful hints. I'm sure they would love to give you some ideas. Good luck, remember to breathe, and have fun!

Welcome to the board. The cutting is hard for a lot of people. You may like to Fussy cut. Draw a pencil line aroung your piece you need to cut. Then cut on the line. It may help you to you get more used to it. After awhile your confidence will steady you . Best of luck to you.
