I have the 11000. My last 3 machines have been Janome. Love them all. They just keep coming out with better things. Would love to have an industrial machine (4 needle)

I am a true Janome fan. I have the new 7700, which by the way I am still bonding with. I have the 6500 and had two Gems, one I have given to one of my best friends. I use the Gem for classes, unless a large machine is needed. Then I take my 6500.
I have questions regarding the 7700. So if anyone out there has the 7700, respond, please.
The 6500 is so easy to work on and I have had no problems except the ones I cause myself. She has had only three maintenance cleaning. Reason is that I live on Maui and I send it to Oahu as they are the only Janome dealer in our state.
So anyone thinking about a janome should at the very least try one out.

Bought mine last spring and have made so many quilts I just love my Janome. I make sure I keep it cleaned of lint etc and have had it in once for a professional cleaning and adjucting if it needed it and it was all still under the warranty. so I love mine wouldn't buy anything else.

My story is the same as Mountainmammo.I bought my Singer 401A in 1959 and the only problem I had was it wouldn't sew knits until I had a new take-up hook installed. I still have that machine because a repairman told me to hang onto it because it was the last Singer with all metal parts. About 15 years ago I bought the Pfaff 7550 which I dearly loved but bought the Janome 6500 six years ago because I wanted the larger space for quilting. I've put a lot of miles on it and it really is having some issues now. Several years ago one of the spool holders started leaning and then fell off. This is a very expensive repair so chose not to. The thread cutter is very finicky. This machine requires very frequent cleaning. Now the bobbin winder has quit. Sometimes the straight stitch setting comes up with a funky 2 stitch and then a hesitation pattern. Resetting clears the problem. I'm going to keep using it until it quits but not invest in repairs.

I had the very first Jem as a class machine but stopped using it because it had only 3 stitch lengths, none of which was good for piecing. Because of increasing heart problems I needed a light weight machine for classes so I bought the Janone Platinum 760. I wish I had shopped longer because it doesn't have the variable needle position or thread cutter.

I have the Janome 6600P and the Horizon. The 6600 is wonderful for doing FMQ. Can't say about the Horizon as I have only used this machine once since I got her at Christmas time and only for piecing.
She is a good machine and I love the extra throat space.

I my humble opinion you can't go wrong with either of these machines.

I have a Janomw 9500 and a Janome Jem Platinum 760 and love both of them. Wouldn't have any other kind.

I have a Janome Gem 760 and thought I'd use it for classes and retreats, but I am left-handed and the presser foot lever is on the right side and I just can't get used to using right hand for that. Other than that it sews well. But I am a Bernina person and love my 440.

I had a Singer for 32 years, and when that finally wore out, I purchased a Janome DC3500. Used it for two years and loved it so much that I upgraded to the Jamone Memorycraft 4900. I have had it for two years and absolutely love it. Smooth running, easy to clean, love the stitches to accent all of my projects. Wish I could have afforded the Jamone 11000....

I have had my machine for about 12 years, I have only had it service once...(my bad) but I have had wonderful service from it. Wouldn't trade it for anything. I had a Singer Athena 2000 and wore it out, and I loved it. But I can truly say I love my Janome best.

Back in 1970, my hubby bought me a New Home (we lived in Japan, not far from the factory). That machine was way ahead of it's time, had cams for lots of decorative stitches...I used that machine for 20+ years, hardly a problem...loved it. Then in 1993, passed it on to my daughter & I bought a Janome 5000 and a Janome serger. Loved them, no problems. In 1998, upgraded to Janome 9000, what a workhorse! I have a 300e for most of my embroidery. I just got a 6600P off layaway, as I wanted a larger quilting area. Haven't used it yet, but my daughter has had hers for about 3 years & loves it, that's why I bought it for myself. I am a crafter (do about 10-12 shows a year, so am always sewing to keep up with the booth sales), & a quilter. I wouldn't trade my Janomes for anything...love them!!!
