We were told that Sunday was a day of rest as we had all week to take care of other things. But........sometimes I do sew on Sunday becuz it is restful!

If quiltig is a chore, something you have to do but don't care to do, don't do it on Sunday.
If quilting is a joy there is no reason not to do it on Sunday. In fact make time to do it on Sunday. Sunday is for rest and relaxation, other than the things we need to do such as feed our family.

My aunt would tell me the same thing, if I am relaxing sewing I do it, but if it is a hard project I wait until Monday to tackle it.

Maybe you mother didn't want the work of cleaning up the mess! My young kids sure make a mess with scissors!
LOL I think this is the reason and that is also why she never told you the reason!

Check your heart attitude. It's one of those things that has been taken out of context.

I don't sew on Sunday because I am busy doing things at church and/or with my grandkids. And my grandma also said I would pick out any sewing I did on Sunday.
