I think I must be a quilter now. When I read your post, part saying you made your sandwich the night before, my mind said you were going to try quilting on it immediately. Doesn't sandwich mean quilt sandwich? Then you went and ate it , later in the posting. Had a good laugh on myself.

I know that feeling! Good for you! Looking forward to the pics. I have a friend who had hers painted purple. It is gorgeous! I would love to have mine painted also, but the cost was a bit much for me at this time.

I bought Nancy Johnson-Sebro's book Featherweight 221 The perfect portable even before I got my machine, well the night before to be exact!!

I used it a lot, it has great basic and some advanced info. Good diagrams and I think she's got a new edition out by now. It'a bit cheaper then some of the other recommended books, but was a great starting place.

You will LOVE her. I've had mine since Christmas...yes, Santa was good to me. I take her for classes, quilt till you wilt and even use her at home. I hardly ever use my 4 year old machine. My vintage machines have taken its place.

Now I am even more jealous. I just can't seem to find one in good condition at a reasonable price. I know you will enjoy her. :hunf:
