Second, I gotta tell you....that is the funniest thing I have ever seen. I have never seen a bird in a cast before.
Glad he was able to adapt, sounds like he is pretty pampered and obviously well taken care of.

I wish I had a video camera to record Petie when he runs sideways...it is so funny to see.
You're right, he is pampered. He has us very well trained

Abby is aggressive, too. I'm her favorite. She nips at everyone else. We also have a Havanese dog. Abby has no fear of him at all. It is so funny to watch them. He will walk up to the cage and she goes into attack mode. He backs right off. lol

They probably are not for the novice bird owner, or good with children. They can be bitey! We had a cockatiel that was very gentle, and was great with our girls.
But we love our little munchkin. When he gets tired in the early evening he just wants to cuddle and be petted. He is very docile and loving which makes up for all the shenanigans during the day LOL.

Here is an update on Petie.
He went to the vet yesterday and had his splint/cast removed. The Dr. had to administer anesthesia to keep him still. He told us that he places a little helmet over his head and the gas is released. He says "He'll look like a space parrot" Too funny.
The vet thinks his leg looks great, but he will have to strengthen it over the next few days. His little leg was shaved of feathers so it looks a little funny.
So that is my good news...Petie is doing well. He is very happy the cast is OFF.
