Have you ever seen a casket lined with a quilt?

You know what? I brought the subject up at a quilt guild meeting a couple of years ago and my quilting sisters thought it was a morbid idea. I like the idea of making some up and taking them to a funeral home. I do plan to make one for myself, though. I don't care what they say, it is a great idea.

I love the idea of showing your handiwork over the years by draping your quilts in lieu of flowers. Flowers are such an unnecessary funeral expense. What better way for the mourners to go from one to the next remembering you for your wonderful talents!
great idea.......I have told my family instead of flowers I want all who have gotten one of my quilts to bring them to drape over the stands they have for flowers. before they leave for funeral they should make sure they take them back. morbid...maybe but it would be fitting tribute.[/quote]
