Very useful. Thank you. On the same topic, I just saw that www.embroiderydesigns.com is having a $1.99 sale. Lots of Sunbonnet Sue designs.

My question that no one responded to is this: I bought a design pack of quilting designs. I have a Baby Lock Sofia 2 with a 4x4 hoop. Wondering if I need to hoop individual QAYG sqaures to uses these or if there is a way to use them without the hoop.

They are on various emb subjects, i.e. hooping, needles, etc..

They're Word docs.

Generally speaking, you need to hoop them.

Being new to machine embroidery I really appreciate you posting these. I am sure it will help me to learn more.

I just searched through all the embroidery posts on this forum and came across www.bunnycup.com They are offering tons of free retired design sets. I spent hours downloading! In order to show my gratitude I purchased a couple of sets only to find that during April, it's Buy One Get One Free! Wow! Happy, happy, happy!

I am glad you started this thread, I have a question, I am new to this I just purchased a Janome 10001 a friend of mine that has been embroidering for a long time showed me how to set up the hoop my question is do you always have to do a top layer over the material and when would'nt you have to and what is the purpose of doing the plastic over the top of the material? I am anxious to hear your replys

I was unable to see what you had to show us. But I have a problem with cotton. I had tried to do the YAYASistersbestfriends embroidery pattern. some of the embroidery cottons kept breaking which is a pain considering it takes over 90 minutes actual sewing time. Is there a better brand than others to use or should they all work OK and I have some bad cottons.
