Any ruler will do--I just take my long 1" strips, and cut whatever length size pieces I need. I usually do half with my earth tone and tan strips and the other half out of browns, blacks, rusts, golds--you know--chickenish colors.

Did you notice that there is no template for the comb and beak. I had printed this out a while ago and went to make it today but no templates?

the only problem with this one is that there is no template for comb or beak. I had another pattern for chicken that I used the template from it. The directions also say things like "head is not stuffed?? The picture looks like what I want but not good directions.
