I wear leather gloves as well for heavy work - digging, clearing brambles, nettles etc; But not for sowing or planting or hand weeding, although I then have to scrub like mad with a nail brush before I go near any fabric!

Mama it REALLY isn't that difficult if you can get your head around the paper piecing, as you just stitch on the lines, I use an open toe foot so you have a clear view..just stitch a couple of tiny stitches before and after the drawn line OH and I ALWAYS stitch right to the edge of the boundary stitch lines :D

I can understand when you are doing fine work, I HATE gloves but don't fancy grabbing a handful of snake or something nasty, now that the borders are clear of weeds I will just use my favourite ENGLISH hoe which you cannot get in Spain!!

Izy, these are FABULOUS! It's not just the sewing tiny pieces, (that is MAJOR, though), it's picking the fabrics for color and size too! I wish there was some way to share all that talent by downloading it into my own brain! :D

Celeste, I had spent about two weeks organising a refuse sack full of bits, alot of these fabrics were left over from my first sampler quilt, and bits I have collected in the two years since I started quilting, alot came from my friends here on the board last year :D I enjoy colour coordinating, I originally was going to do a totally scrappy, but I just COULDN'T cope with the total hotch potch so went with these as I had more of them :D :D :D

OMG, Izzy. I bow to the queen of scrappy. What a delightful quilt you have going. Can't wait to see more.
