Where do I get my materials. I get interesting fabric from clothing from thrift shops. I mention what I am looking for to friends...you would be surprised how much you get from friends. Michaels/hobby lobby/Joanns for all the embellishing and fabric. Of course you can go to bead shops and my lqs carries supplies. That said my lqs owner is who taught me how to make a block. She also taught me Brazillian embroidery, but working with that thread is a real bear. Again thanks for all the nice compliments. It has given me that extra push to get stitching again.

shop your local thrift shops for silk, satin, and velvet clothing. You will be surprised what you will find.

You must be the SOUL OF PATIENCE! All that hand stitching is incredibly beautiful, and your embellishments, very creative. How do you construct your blocks? Just keep adding pieces and then cut a square out of a piece big enough? I want to try it, but would do piecing and decorative stitching by machine.

I am just finishing a crazy quilt. The entire thing done on my machine. all machine embroidery....have spent over a week on just the final sashing and binding. Probably the most spectacular, intense, beautiful quilt I have ever made. Will be a very long time until I do another probably have well over 100 hours in it....and I am giving it away!
will post picture when done...

Although the fancy fabrics are traditional, and my favorite...cottons can also be used...look at my picture on this post!!! It is mostly cottons...

Oh your blocks are just luscious with color and stitches.

I don't do crazy quilts / blocks because they need so much handwork, altho I guess I could do it all by machine but your handwork shows why it makes a crazy quilt so perfectly delightful and beautiful.

thank you so much for sharing, I look forward to seeing more photos
