Gonna try this again. Obviously I was trying to send a reply to the old thread at the same time the thread was being closed and relabeled. Not hard to confuse a girl like me.
SANDY, I am so proud of you! It is a marvel to me that you had such success with all that you lived thru last month. Keep truckin girlie!

The strawberry recipe sounds good, though I have to use regular Jello - can't have artificial sweeteners. I just bought a quart of strawberries yesterday. I know I have the jello- I have a friend who's addicted to my strawberry rhubarb cake. The rhubarb is popping through the snow, so it won't be long.

Thanks Lynne and Mary. Mary, I started out by just cutting back on my portion sizes of food. I was hooked on Dr Pepper and not diet Dr Pepper. I do not like the aftertaste of diet sodas, plus they have appetite enhancers in them. I love water, which is a good thing. I have cut way back on my sweet tea, as I only like it if it's sweet. I havent had a glass of sweet tea in about 3 wks now. DH only likes unsweet so I rarely make sweet tea. I no longer keep junk food in my house. NONE!! The most fattening thing in my house is popcorn, and it's plain, not buttered. Since I've cut back on my portions, I have realized how good it feels to not eat until feeling so stuffed. It is a good feeling. I have had so many problems with my knee, it was not easy to get out and about. So, when I really wanted something fattening, or bad, to eat, it just wasn't worth the hassle of me driving into town to get it. Granted we are only 3 miles out of town, but with my knee problems, that was a big deal. I had knee replacement surgey 3 weeks ago. I'm not up and about much, which helps in not going into the kitchen and eating or nibbling just for the sake of it. The best advice I can give is to get off sodas, if you're hooked on them as I was. They are so full of sodium, and to cut back on your portion size, and exercise. Listen at me recommending exercise. This coming from someone that HATES to exercise. However, I have come to realize that it takes exercise, or any kind of moving, along with eating healthier, to get the lbs off. I wish you the best of luck in this venture. WE CAN DO THIS! WE ARE DOING THIS!!!!!!! Keep up the good work everyone. Sandy

I'm watching again, I'm not trying to lose a lot of weight each month, just about 5 to 7 pounds.
I always feel better in the morning when I haven't eaten a large dinner. I sleep better and I wake up feeling lighter.
I'm at 81 pounds and counting. Only 29 more to go. I'm far more active in the summer as I have the time off. I wanted it off by June, but it looks like it is going to be August or Sept.

Sandy thanks for the advice. I don't drink soda, when I do it's a sip here and there from a can of diet soda in the frig. 1 can lasts about 1 week. I drink lots of water. I have a 2qt prifying pitcher. I drink almost 2 of those a day.I don't eat much junk (chips ,cake etc.) I'm diabetic so no or little potatoes and breads etc. No sugars. My problem is exercise.I can't stay on my feet long.I try bicycling on a stable cycle. My heel and ankle spurs only let me do so much at a time.Carol J your doing great too. I wish us all the best . Hi all,
I weighed in this morning and discovered that between my weigh in just before midnight last night and this morning when I weighed again for my May start up, I gained three pounds by eating POPCORN! Crazy! I won't be doing that again.
So as of this morning, I now have 48 lbs. to go to get to goal. When I get there I will have lost 107. So I'm more than half way there. YeeHaw! The weather promises to be great all week (finally) so I'm heading out to get started on walking. I sure missed that all winter.
Have a great day everyone!!
