I have been quilting for 9 months. I am very addicted since I have made about 20 quilts ( different difficult levels) and I just bought an Innova quilting machine so I can do my own quilting instead of sending it to someone else.

Sixteen years. Started when our daughter was pregnant with our only grandchild, now a lovely young lady of 16.

I've been sewing since I was 5 (1948). even back then my grandmother would let me take a few stitches on the quilt she was workind on. Does that count? I was born in 1943= 65 yrs. Made my first doll quilt when I was 6 or 7.

About 30 years. I had all kinds of odd sheets left from sets and a huge box of scrapes left from sewing for my family. We were short of blankets, batting was cheap at the time, so did what my ancestors did. Used what I had to make quilts. The first were just scrap squares sewed together and tied to a sheet with the overhang flipped over for an edge. A neighbor who quilted showed me how to hand quilt with a hoop and I was HOOKED. Have loved it ever since.

I have been sewing most of my life, but just started quilting about 4 years ago. At my church there is a quilting group and my friends kept trying to get me to come, but I was sewing for a living and wasn't interested in sewing for a hobby. But, when I quit my job, I thought I would give quilting a try. And the rest, as they say, is history. I wish I had more time for it, but I do what I can when I can.
