I have learned to bathe by heating water in a lobster pot out on the grill and to enjoy the simple things in life. Without this cell ph we would be totally cut off.

What can we quilters do to help other quilters who suffered damage?

It is just unbelievable to see the pictures of the devastation-so very heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers are with all who are suffering from such loss. If anyone finds a place to send a quilt in the near future to help a family, please let us all know. I'm sure there are many who would love to send our love in such a way.

This is an excellent question. Anyone know of contacts (churches perhaps) where we can forward something, anything?

My best wishes and prayers to all the survivors,
from someone who has survived one too.

I just put up a post offering to head a project for Al. I will get in touch with my friends at project Linus. I had just finished LA quilting for quilts for Japan the day before this happened.

American Red Cross and other such organizations would love any donations to them.... they have been so good to help.

Here in the UK we were horrified at the destruction and the scale of it. We're lucky not to have such violent weather. Our prayers to you all, stay strong.

I guess we are east central Al. We were spared this time. Each storm was diverted just a hair and we escaped the fury. I am still picking up leaf litter and the woods - well that will have to wait. We have had our share of hits here in the past. We send food, water, clothing, money and labor knowing that when our time comes here for us to be hit help will come.

I live in North Al, also, not far from Ann. We lost electricity, but not for long, just a day or so. We did not have tv, so what we got on the internet was what we saw. We were very fortunate, but there are people who have lost everything and others have lost lives. There is a site on here to send quilts or quilt tops to if you would like to help: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-120016-1.htm
This lady lives near the destruction areas. She will quilt your tops. Pray for all affected
