I have been looking at all of the purses that have been posted and I am jealous. I want to make a purse, but my sewing skills are minimal. (I can sew a straight seam (almost) and that is about it.) Can anyone suggest an easy purse pattern for me to try?

Okay, is everyone suggesting the bow tucks pattern. Keep in mind I don't know how to set in bottoms, etc.

Without knowing what kind of style purse you want it would be really hard to give suggestions. I would say start off easy - with a zippered pouch or a clutch then maybe a messenger bag or something. Heart of Mary has a great tutorial on messenger bags. I will say if you can sew a straight line, you can sew a purse lol. If you can make a basket, you can make a purse.. if you can dodge a car, you can dodge a ball... oh wait,... that's a movie line :D
