This is for information only - but if you have a computerized sewing machine, or even your computer itself, DO NOT PUT ANYTHING MAGNETIZED NEAR IT!

It ruins the computerized parts in the machines - set your magnetic pin holders, or whatever on another area from your machines. I was told this by my dealer when I purchased my new sewing machine and she also mentioned doing the same for any computer... I am not electronic minded enough to know what it ruins, but I guess the thought is Just Don't Do IT.

Just wanted to pass this along to all you so you don't have unnecessary problems and expensive fixes...

There is a magnet in the hard drive, other magnets around will throw it off. DS is a tech. He used to take the old hard drives apart- they have a really strong magnet in them.

You should get info from your manufacturer. I checked with Janome before buying the Magna Hoop and was told it has to be a much stronger magnetic field before it causes a problem and would have to be right on the computer side. Used the MagnaHoop for years now with no problems. Also checked with Babylock and was told the same thing.

The position of the magnets on the frame does not cause any damage to computerized embroidery machines. This has been thoroughly tested with no adverse effects. The metal frame absorbs the electromagnetic pull which, while strong enough for hooping, is not strong enough to go through this field.
