I have read about all the help we share and how many newbies we get started. I have loved to read all your groans and moans especially about sewing on the binding. Doesn't bother me a bit. HOWEVER, I realized this week what I REALLY hate to sew. It's replacing zippers in jeans. After four boys I have had it up to you know where. They were still bringing them home to Mom to fix twenty years after they were on their own. All I heard was "But Mom, these cost me $75 and I've only worn them five times." At that price that zipper should last 50 years. I just had to do one for a dear friend. What could I say. She took me in for my oral surgery, waited over an hour and brought me home. You should have heard me. I was saying things that would have made a sailor blush.

I have been communicating with a quilter about the Happy Daisy Quilt that I fell in love with. The original quilter has been so helpful, said that she would send me one piece of fabric to get me started. Holy Cow! She sent me a ton of fabric pieces and I am so excited to get started.
(I was biding my time---just using my 40% off coupons each week/month to get the fabric that I needed. I try to be pretty frugal and I have a LIST of projects to do first.)
I am so grateful and am so pleased to find such encouraging, generous, and caring individuals on this board. Thank you to all.

I consider this board as one big family sharing ideas and helping others learn to quilt and giving so much support to each other in many ways.

Same thing happened to me....I asked if anyone had a copy of the Fall 2009 Better Homes and Gardens Fast and Fabulous Quilting Ideas magazine they were willing to part with, and quick as a wink a wonderful gal in Canada responded to me and then sent me the magazine post haste. She wouldn't accept any money for it, and said she didn't want anything at all because she was happy to share with another quilter, especially since she wasn't going to make any of the items in it. I believe that kindness needs to be rewarded, so I sent her a couple of LQS fat quarter bundles anyway. Such warm and wonderful people we meet here!!

I know that since I've been a member of this board that I have been blessed. I feel that I have made some awesome friendships and hope to make more. I've learned that quilters are the best!!!
