I went motor racing with DH. My DS visited from 4 hrs away. The other DS stayed home and cooked dinner.

Quiet day for me too, but that's okay,we need a quiet day! Visited D MinL and Dad and his wife yesterday and had a nice meal out. Twenty years ago, I had my son on Mother's Day! Now, that wasn't a quiet day!

I work 12 hour night shifts, back to back this weekend, so I will be sleeping then working. I work in a newborn nursery, so I get to greet the brand new moms on moms day.

Probably cry. I was not blessed with being a mother and this is one holiday I hate. When my mother was alive it wasn't too bad because I honored her....I try to stay in this day, as everywhere I go people wish me a Happy Mother's Day.

My daughter is too sick (just a bad cold) to shop or go out today for mother's day, so I changed 4 lightbulbs and 2 smoke detectors, cleaned out the storeroom and emptied the ducted vacuum cleaner bag (18 months since last changed so well overdue) Not the best mother's day I've ever had!

Just a step here but treat it like a holiday anyway - any excuse to misbehave :-)

Just had some quiche (made yesterday) and fruit. Usually I *let* DH grill for me but I happen to have a can of escargot and we don't get them often. We purchased 2 cans, had one on Easter as an appetizer and I was too full for dinner. So tonight they will BE dinner stuffed into mushroom caps and baked with lots of garlic and butter. A small green salad with shrimp and some homemade bread - I can't wait! Fat overload - hope the tummy doesn't rebel :-)

My "goodie" for the day (that I know I will eat too many of!) is some chocolate covered pecans from Mary Jane's Chocolates here in town. MIL and I both love it and have DH trained to go there often.

Congratulations on your son's graduation. Our youngest graduated in Dec. It's a great feeling, isn't it? For them and for us.

My DD still lives in New York, but she sent me a gift box of Godiva Chocolates. YUMMY !!! And my son is actually taking me and DH out to dinner. 33 years old and this is the FIRST Time! This is a momentous occasion.

My own Mom passed 15 years ago, and it still feels like it just happened. Miss our 7 am telephone/coffee klatches.

Happy Mother's Day ladies.
