How about using his jeans for the backing?
So sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for the loss of your grandson. Friends tell me the stabilizer is important. Be sure to refer to the sites recommended. They are always so helpful. I know you want this project to be as perfect a memory as possible. Our thoughts and prayers will be in every stitch. God bless you.

Shirley, I don't know anything about constructing a T-shirt quilt but wanted to say I am so sorry for your loss.

**Do use a NON-WOVEN fusible interfacing. Helps immensely in keeping the blocks stable and square (or whatever shape).

My condolences to you. May the Lord wrap you in His love.

So sorry to hear of your loss. The memory quilt is a wonderful idea - I have made many of them for the surviving family members, one woman wanted a total of six for herself and children after her significant other died in an auto accident. Did one for the parent's of my husband's godson....thirteen years after he died.

Many times it is very difficult for me to do them, but the finished product is such a comfort to those left behind.
