this is so true, tnks for putting it up. Its not ever "just a" anything when you talk about living things: people, animals, birds, etc. No matter what, only God can create all of these, and nothing ever born is "just a" anything. Most people dont seem to take the time to understand this with each other let alone other living things -. share t

We have a Nanday Conure parrot. Very pretty, ornery at times but is 16 yrs old and is a very good watchdog for our lab/ret dog!

"Just a dog" was very instrumental in my husband's long rehabilation from traumatic brain injury. She caused him to worry about someone other than himself and gives him such unconditional love and devotion! I owe a lot to our "just a dog". Thanks again Ditter for your insightful items.

Wow, I'm not even a dog person and I get it. I am unapologetically a cat person however I grew up in the home of dog people (that explains a lot). I have also raised a daughter who is a dog person. I absolutely believe in the unconditional relationship between kids and pets and so when DD was 12 we gave her a dog birthday party and she chose a best friend and named her Sasha. I don't love dogs but I loved Sasha. I loved Sasha because she loved DD. I loved Sasha because she was a gentle, sweet and loving soul despite the abuse she had suffered in a drug dealers life (Sasha was a rescue)and I loved Sasha because she loved me. Her passing was a sad, loving, gentle and sweet moment that I will never forget. I will also never forget Sasha because she loved my DD.
