Don't be scared. I just went through a total hip replacement and it's been the best things I have ever done. Tonight has been the worst pain I have had the last couple of weeks but it's still so much better than the best pain day before my surgery. I'm going on 5 1/2 weeks now and I'm getting around with a cane pretty much all the time now. I walked a little bit to much today that's why my pain is higher tonight. Just make sure that you do your therapy like your doctor and therapist tell you too. You'll be as good as new sooner than you think. I also had 3 large cysts on the bone that was removed when they cut the ball off for the prosthetic.

I've had this surgery and it was a piece of cake. I walked on it within a few days and had very little pain. It was just three small (less than an inch) incisions. You'll do fine. I was 54 when I had mine, am a school teacher who stands most of the day. I had the surgery the Monday before Thanksgiving and was back to work the Monday after.

Have had 20 surg. in 20 years and 2 before that. The most major one, open heart surg. when I was in high school 5/60. Yes, that was 1960 and I am still here!! Have knee replace, ments. You will be fine. Just do the exercises they ask you to do.

I've had it done too. Nothing to it. You'll do very well and in a week or two you'll be back to work (?) or ready to climb stairs again. Good luck to you!!
