The shop is open for "our shopping pleasure" (my words) along with the rest of the quilting world. We will have a separate area in the basement where they normally run the classes and so there will be some outlets, etc. I think there is also going to be a class and so I'm thinking that we'll get the smaller class area. I will firm up the details soon as I want to give Sarah Phillips, the owner a heads up. So as your plans change and firm up, I'd appreciate a heads up, please.
My idea is to eat pretty much as soon as we get there around 1 and then we can either cruise the shop or take a look at what we've each brought and take a try at some of the techniques we've mentioned and THEN shop. I know shopping will be a high point and those who love brights and moderns will adore the shop

Yup, newbies and wannabies welcomed. My feeling is the more the merrier and if we can infect your friend with the quilting virus, well, that's perfect
I would ask y'all to confirm for sure as soon as you know so I can keep a better handle on things! Thanks

I am new to all of this and don't know how swaps and challenges, etc work. Information please if we are doing any of that for this meeting. I love the idea of demos by those who have experience to learn the difference between OBW, kaleidoscopes, dresden kaleid. etc. and what materials to chose for them. Need lots of time for getting to know each other and of course eating and snacking.

I am thinking for this first one it'll be pretty loose as we do all want to get to know each other and there are about 24 folks who think they can make it. A couple of us are willing to try to do some demos about different things like half sq triangles (HST), the OBW thing, looking at the FW's. Lunch will be first on the agenda, of course  Don't want the food to get cold!
I think the only challenge thing would be those of us who want to do teacherbailey's suggestion about buying fabric there and swapping with the others that also buy fabric, then doing a project and showing it on the board.
I'm going to bring a camera and please the rest of you feel free to do so as well, we have an obligation to show our smiling faces to those who want to come and can't make it
I think another sweet would be ok, so far we've only got 3 by my count, if someone else finds one I've missed, let me know....I've got brownies, my toffee almond bars and your sweet, quilting addict. Mummm, a raw veggie plate might be nice as a sop to good health if some one else is looking for an easy bring.
