Once I got into it, I found PP really easy, but maths was my best subject at school and in an IQ test at work I got told I see "patterns" really easily, so maybe that's got something to do with it.

I have been doing mine on violene (sp) instead of paper, that really thin tissue like stuff (not the iron on one) so that there is no removing the paper afterwards, you can just leave it on. And then it's just a matter of following the numbers and sewing down the lines. Easy peasy!

shhhhhhh.... don't tell anyone, most of that came out of the rubbish bin. ;-)

The bigger the rubbish bin pile gets, the more I see my tastes reflected in what's being thrown away. I was thinking the scrap bin would be too diverse and that nothing would "go" together enough to put into one quilt. But my tastes are quite strong, so there is a definite theme and the scraps do end up going well.

I love the bright colors. I have a friend who paper pieces. We all call her the Queen of paper piecing because that is what she mostly does. I am trying to get into. Looking at easy patterns first (yea right, I always go for the hard then work my way to easy lol) I did hear that it is additive also. Can't wait to see the whole quilt when it is done.

I am inspired too, by you. I have always wanted to try paper piecing. Can't wait to start. Do you have to buy special paper or can you use any white paper?

not only are your blocks wonderful, but they are really, really, tiny! I judge that by the size of the pin head in the upper right hand color. That is the beauty of paper piecing, I have heard ... being able to sew accurate, teeny pieces ... it looks to me like you proved that quite well.
Isn't it interesting how black makes colors POP?!?!

I used vialene... not sure on the spelling sorry. But it's a very thin interfacing (non iron on). I don't know if you guys have that brand, but it would have an equivalent I would think. It works just the same as paper, and because it's so thin you don't need to take it off afterwards, you can just leave it on. Saves a lot of time and hassle!
