I'm not financially able to buy one at this time, but I do dream of a longarm & do plan to buy one eventually. I read every post on this board about the pros & cons of owning one. On-line I've gone to the websites of all the big names in longarm machine. Bailey's seems to be at a good price for a new machine and I like the HQ16. I actually tried the HQ16 (sit down version) at a quilt shop and it sew so smoothly. I even have a picture of the HQ16 taped above my old sewing machine on my sewing room wall as incentive...ha. Although, I will probably buy a used longarm. And I have to think about space as my sewing room is only 10' x 12.6'. As my husband & I near retirement age I was hoping that this would be a way to suppliment our income...not be our income, but bring a little bit in every now & then. In the meantime (unless money falls from the sky or some sewing machine genie is giving one away) I'm dreaming, dreaming, dreaming!

I am in awe of the talent out there! I wish I knew someone locally who owned one that could adopt me and teach me all they know! Unless I hit the lottery, I don't expect to ever own one. :( I'll just have to sit back and admire the work of others.

Charismah, I'm curious, is long arm quilting your main job? I love your work & really enjoy the pictures you post. You seem to be so busy that I've wondered if you work outside the home.

I have two Gammills and wouldn't trade them for anything in the world! Great service by the dealers and virtually problem-free!

I bought a used Gammil 6 months ago. Love it!!! I had a short arm and found it too limiting. Wish I had been able to get the Gammill years ago.

I have a Gammill Statler Stitcher. My dream is to have a room in the house I can close off from the 9 cats instead of being out in the garage. My husband would love to have his garage back!

My two not-very-long arms are all I need for quilting. I love to hand quilt and do it for a "business". Well, at least it supports my habit! :-) It's certainly not making me rich!
