I spoke to patrice and she is graciously opening up the halloween swap to four sets of six blocks.

If you want to do more than two sets and you have sent your blocks already. Remember that two sets of twelve inch blocks is all that will fit into a flat rate envelope. So if you are sending 4 sets of blocks, you will need to send a stamped envelope for each 2 sets of blocks. This is important!
Please contact me and I will update your activity page to show how many you are wanting to swap.

This will mean I won't be hosting another halloween swap back to back to this one. This update is pretty cool because your blocks will all be there in plenty of time to make your quilts for halloween display.

I will however be asking the admin to host a fun christmas (Winter Holiday) block swap at the end of this swap. I just think it would be SO FUN!

Let me know if you are wanting to increase your block sets by pm.

Red
Yes, I will do two more sets....

I just wanted to let you know that I mailed 24- 12 1/2" blocks plus a flat rate envelope in a flat rate envelope for another swap. They all fit in it. I folded 12 blocks in half one way and 12 going the opposite way. They were in a zip lock bag, but I did not close the zip lock bag. The post man said the post office just needed to be sure the envelope closed the regular way, even if some tape was used. I am not going against what red garnett said. So do what she said. I just wanted to give you this information.

I have 8 blocks cut and pinned. When I get 12 done, I will probably do some more sets. But, I want to get 12 done first. I want to be in on the Christmas swap also. Thank you Patrice and Red Garnett.

I have a question. I am appliquing a block that has a bat and a moon with a witchon a broom in it. The moon and witch are small. Is there any type of stabilizer that you can iron on both sides to make a small piece stick to both fabrics? This looks really cute the way I have done it. I cut a small witch out of a piece of fabric that I have. I do not know if I can make a small
enough applique stitch with the sewing machine. I am new to applique. Also, is it ok to embellish the bat eyes with buttons?
All the blocks I have seen are applique. Do they all have to be applique or embroidered?

I'll make two more sets (4 total). STILL waiting on my previously-mentioned fabric order to get here. For some reason, they marked my order as being "on hold" instead of shipping it. Grrr. I've got all my little applique pieces cut out, but need the background fabric that's ordered to finish them up.

Here's what my sets will be:

1) Embroidered skulls (pic previously posted)
2) Haunted House with a gigantic moon in the background
3) Sunbonnet Sue as a witch, stirring a cauldron of green liquid
4) Either an embroidered dancing skeleton or an appliqued vampire ... haven't decided. Probably the skeleton.
