This is beautiful. I have similar panels with horses and didn't know what to do with them. Thanks for the tutorial and picture. Love it!

NICE !!! Thank you...I have a panel of one of NC's lighthouses that I wanted to make into an attic window frame. This all makes sense.

You are positively going to hate me...
because you did such a beautiful job!
but
The sunlight on the backs of the horses is coming from behind them and from the right.
The light in the attic window frame is coming from the left.
sorry...
but I am an artist and was made to pay attention to the light, because it makes the scene more believeable...

If you turned the frame upside down, it might work?
