I have a Tri-Star; some call it a Compact, one of the first cyclonic, with a powerhead. We have four dogs and two cats and it does a really good job; only weighs 13 lbs and the cord is about 35'; had it now for probably 16 years and only once in the shop to repair the cord. It was spendy but I think it's worth its weight in gold.

I don't believe that there is a machine out there that can surpass my Kirby, it's that good.
