I have used the jet set and found that if you don't wash the fabric well with soap and water and let it dry first, the ink won't stay. I use cotton sateen fabric, wash it, air dry, jet set it, let it dry and iron it on to freezer paper and it works fine. I do let it dry after printing in the ink jet printer and dry iron with hot iron to set the ink, then rinse.--Good luck--don't give up.

Go to your Office Max or Office Depot and buy their paper to print photos on and then iron them on your fabric. Easy way to do it. I have done this twice with no problem. Am not home now so can't tell you exactly what the name of the paper is,but they should be able to tell you in the store. I don't believe you should quilt through the pictures those so the stiffness should not be a factor.

I have used this method and have experienced no problems. Material has to be washed,rinsed with no fabric softner. I then iron material, ( I use mostly muslin ) onto a freezer paper cut same size as copy paper, then feed into printer. Once pictures are printed, I heat set them with an iron for 3-4 minutes. Hope this helps.

Are you using an inkjet printer? Packages say not to use a lazer printer as ink is different. Use an inkjet printer and have had no problems on either the Bubble Jet fabric or the pretreated fabric from the store.

I have used the bubble jet set and several different brands of treated fabric. Just used some Timeless treasures for pictures in a quilt I am putting together of my Grandmother and Me. Her blocks and mine for my memory quilt. Never had any problems are you reading the directions first? Then follow to set ink. I am taking pictures to post. I don't like the iron transfer method since it leaves the fabric very stiff. Also I don't like to quilt through the pictures. Makes them look weird.

I have used the purchased sheets and made my own-I have had great luck. I usually make my printed sheets well in advance so I can let them totally dry overnight-then rinse until the water runs clear with cold water-then allow them to dry overnight before ironing in the print. Only once did I have some prints completely wash out and I had used my HP printer at work, but I have used an HP and Dell printer at home with excellent results...do not know what made the difference that time except that maybe I should not have been making copies at work for personal use-HA!!!

I don't think there is ANY method of printing on fabric that is going to give you a photo quality. There is ALWAYS going to be some amount of fading. I too wish I could get photo quality when printing pictures on fabric but I have not been able to find a way that allows for it. Therefore I have not made anything with printed fabric.

However, I have been thinking about getting some of this to TRY but haven't yet. it is not washable, only dry cleanable! Might be worth checking out. http://www.pabric.com/ Ten sheets for 16.50 isn't much more than other brands out there!

I worked on a project for which I wanted the very best color printable fabric, and tried many different brands. June Tailor, Printed Treasures and others just didn't measure up. By far the best was EQ's Cotton Lawn. They make printable sheets on several different types of cotton fabrics, and I tried all of them for my project. Definitely the cotton lawn. Soft hand, no fading after washing, nice sharp images.

These work only on ink-jet printers. The instructions specifically say not to use on laser printers.

Be sure to practice-print your photo on plain paper until you get your colors just right, contrast, size of image, etc. if you can manipulate these variables on your printer. That way you don't waste the fabric sheets. Be sure you have the fabric sheets positioned the right way in your printer and secure in the paper tray.
