Obsession
#51
Hi, and welcome from Montana...I second all of the above comments...before I became addicted to quilting I was addicted to crafting/painting, etc...when I was invited to a quilting retreat that was all she wrote! I gave away all my paints, brushes, etc., and filled my room with fabric! Quite the madding addiction from which I hope I never recover!

i was a "fabriholic" long before i was a quilter. this i a convenient way of managing that stash/collection. making renaissance costumes is a terrific way of managing it, too--it takes about five yards of any given beautiful fabric to even begin to address a period dress. the thing is, though, that a quilt is more practical, keeps more than one person covered, and will please a larger portion of the population!
(but i'm still a renaissance junkie, too)

I am afraid you are addicted. Like you, I think about quilting all the time, planning my next quilt, my next quilting related purchase and scouting the internet for local quilt shops where we will vacation this year. Sunday morning in church I was fixated on the woman in front of me. She had a lovely patterned blouse on that I could visualize using to make a quilt. I so wanted to dig in purse for a pencil and paper so I could sketch the design so I wouldn't forget by the time I got home. Told hubby about it on the way home and he just shook his head. Yipes, I am so glad I am not the only one. Enjoy your obsession, could have a lot worse things on our minds than guilting!!!

I do agree with you. I took my 1st quilt class in January & now I think I am obsessed/addicted. Right now I have 3 unfinished quilt projects, but still had to go to the LQS for their sales over the weekend. I'm on the sew machine until 3am then get a couple hrs sleep then back at it.
