I took my sewing/embroidery machine camping also. It was a time I COULD sew without neglecting the house. Now I sold the camper and have 3 machines. I also still leave the house go. It is my therapy as well. I just don't have to haul everything to a campsite. I camp in front of the machine!
I think the 12 step cure would include another machine and more stash, then gadgets and more embroidery thread, oh yeah, and quilting patterns or books. . .

I always thought I wasn't artistic or creative - can't draw, can't paint, get lucky with photos once in a while... I'd see people designing their own patterns and such and think No Way I can do anything without that step by step pattern. Suddenly one day something clicked -- the things I've been working on lately are more techniques than patterns - and the addiction has only gotten worse.... My husband asked me last night - is this all you like to do anymore?
And yes - I am wanting a hand crank machine so I can sew even while camping

Well if you are obsessed then so am I :) I just started quilting in January and like the others on this site, I am always on the lookout for fabric, I am trying decide what to make next before I am finished one, I spend hours on the internet looking at patterns, tutorials and feel abused if I don't get to read this site every day. We just purchased a travel trailer and placed it on a seasonal lot at a campground and my first thought was where I would be able to sew while camping. And, I have to admit when I wake up during the night and can't get back to sleep I think about projects. I hate to even admit this one but......I took a bag of trash down to the dumpster in the campground on Saturday night and someone has stood one of those small ironing boards for a table top out there. It was just about brand new and not even dirty. I was so elated I almost ran back to the camper. I washed the cover even though it wasn't even dirty and just used it this morning and it is absolutely perfect. So I guess all I can say is..........Welcome to the Club!!
