I have a bar of soap ready to go under the sheets tonight.

How quickly will the pain go away...days/weeks....

I have never heard of this but I have severe wake up crying thigh cramps. My DR. Told me to drink a large gulp of dill pickle juice. It stops the cramp almost instantly. I hobble out to the kitchen and run back to bed. Strange, but it works. I may try the soap,so I wouldn't have to get out of bed. LOL

I have heard of the soap thing.

Two weeks ago, I was having leg cramps in the morning.

I increased my vitamin B's in take and that solved the problem.

My mother-in-law had terrible leg cramps for many years. She tried everything, including pickle juice, and that helped her a lot. Then she started taking homeopathic "HYLAND'S LEG CRAMPS with QUININE" and she hasn't had leg cramps since.

The doctor's column in our newspaper has suggested this treatment several times for leg cramps. I don't think he's a quack.

I have suffered from leg cramps for years. I've tried about everything including the soap under the sheets. The thing that works for me is putting a dry bath towel in the microwave for approx 2 1/2 minutes then wrapping my leg in the hot towel. Takes only a short time to relieve the cramps.

My Mom told me about the soap in the sheets a couple years ago....I told her she was nuts!....until one night I was in such agony I was in tears. I got up in the middle of the night and got a bar of my husbands Dial...put it in the sheets at the foot of the bed and it has been there ever since! LOL ....I had to put my tail between my legs and tell Mom she wasn't nuts....LOL! I do get a new bar every couple months because it does dry out a bit. I even take a bar with me when I go on vacation. It is supposed to work for those who have back pain too....just put it up by your back on the side of the matress. Can't explain it and maybe it's just mind over matter but darn it...It Works!!

Well, as a nurse, ex-nurse now on SSD with fibromyalgia, restless legs, frequent foot and toe cramps and occasional severe cramps on the outersides of my legs just above my ankles and knees, chronic pain from a neck and shoulder injury, you can bet I'm jumping on this bandwagon. If it works, even partly, I am not going to be caring why. LOL
If one bar works partly, I'll be tucking in a couple more.

Never heard of this before but I'm sure glad I decided to click on the lead to check it out. Thank goodness for curiosity. :D

Even the doctors can't explain why it works but it does. You need to use
whole bars of plain soap so I guess Ivory would be most common in the US
and Canada. In Europe they use Savon de Marseille. At home my parents
put it under the mattress.

If it works, why not? One thing you know for sure...it won't hurt you. :)
