I really really really LIKE this block. Does it have a pattern name?

Looks like a variation of a drunkards path to me
Yep, it is a variation of Drunkard's Path. You have to make a few of these, they are a joy to do.

    ****
    1. You will receive a swap pal name and address along with the color scheme or theme of their quilt.

    2. You will have ONE month to make one block for that person and send it to them. The blocks must be 100% prewashed cotton, 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" unfinished (12" when finally sewn into a quilt). You can make them in any fashion - pieced, appliqued, paper-pieced, embroidered, other methods - as long as you follow your swap partner's specifications to the best of your ability so their project can be unified.

    3. Your name will be assigned to someone else who will then do the same for you.

    4. At the end of the month all the names will be reassigned. Please send a PM to the hostess prior to the end of the month if you wish to have your name taken off the list.

    5. Participants may change their theme if they wish by sending a PM to the hostess.

    6. New members may join at any time but may have to wait until the next reassignment of names to receive a partner. ((However, many participants are willing to do extra swaps - so it may be possible to find an interim partner for you)).

PLEASE NOTE: We have several international swap participants, so occasionally your partner may be in another country (which means it will cost slightly more for you to send their block).

Please join the fun - a great chance to make blocks & new friends !

    Questions: :-)

    1. How many 12 1/2" blocks will you ultimately receive?
    2. I see that some of those finished do not have sashing. Can
you add this to the finished blocks?
    3. Can you add plain, supplemental blocks to make it larger?
    4. Are there "quilt police".

I believe we are basically on the honor system as long as we follow the guidelines. I prefer to add sashing myself but can't speak for others. Police?? No I don't think so, but ,to me, if I accept a swap I give my word to produce the best example of what my partner requested that I can. No one is perfect and even the best have an occasional "snafu".

    Hey!

I have a few blocks to make - but it might be next week. I am cleaning my sewing room today. It looks terrible. I can't even find the floor!!

I have three blocks in my brain that are just itching to be made and sent to thier new homes.

If you don't hear from me tomorrow (or later tonight) send help! The room probably ate me!

    1. you receive for however long you stay in it, some only join long enough to get a specific number, some stay in indefinitely and just change "themes" when they have enough of one.

    2. sashing is something the receiver of the blocks would decide on, some people add a sash as a part of the 12.5 inches

    3. you can add whatever you would like on your blocks to make your quilt, I will be using some plain fabric squares as blocks to fill in in spots on mine

    4. and most of us are our own worst "quilt police" lol
