I remember having one that was about 1/2" tall when I was a child. I loved it. Don't remember what happened to it. I have never seen one so tall. Can't wait to see your collection tomorrow.

Cute, I received one as a gift years ago, no idea they were called Kokeshi. I can understand why you like them so much. :thumbup:

I hosted a Japanese girl a few years ago and she gave me several as a gift for hosting her for the year. Then when she returned to Japan she and her family sent me a few more as a thank you and Christmas gift. I love them. I have found a few older ones at a vendor collectible market. This market is the kind you do not have to tend your own booth. I finally met the woman who owns it and she is from the same city in Japan where my exchange student daughter lives. We have hosted 5 girls over the years, 3 Japanese, 1 Thai and 1 Russian. Love the dolls and love my exchange daughters.

Very cute ! I have several that my Dad brought back from Japan in the late 40's, he was in the Navy ! Good luck in your collecting !
