I want to thank everyone for all the different opinions on this FW. It has been fun to read all the posts.

I wouldn't. Not when I got mine in near perfect shape for $249.00.

no, I think that's way too much. I don't want a FW, I'd prefer a hand crank machine. :)

I saw

I saw an antque Singer in an antique stre u North last weekend. I didn't have time to look how old it was. Some of the gold decals were gone, but it looked in good shape w/ attchments. The cabinet that it was in ws beautiful. The little side drawers were so pretty. The price for both was $395.00. MyDH wasn't w/ me so I didn't inquire about it.

Me too - I am an modern sewer - and I have a house full of antiques! Just not my urge. We are doing all the others a favor, but not taking the ones they are looking for

No way!
I like sewing with my Featherweights. The only one that cost more than $250 was my tan FW, it was $600.
I have my modern computerized machines to sew with, but
I also enjoy sewing with a treadle or FW.

I don't know much about it as this was the first time I went to it and I only knew about it because rexie posted about it. Try googling it and see if anything comes up.

In yrs. past as I hit a lot of antique malls, the going price was $250 at its highest.
