Ell, I hear you!!
My problem is getting tired of the fabric by the time I'm done. I bought some that I HAD TO HAVE and I have the top almost finished and am sick of it! LOL

I loved making quilt tops and made over 30 in 2 years. Getting in the practice, but then went on to competition art quilts and free-motion quilting but never did go back to quilt the first ones. I've given some away but still have a dozen or so left. Someday they will be sold or quilted!

This happens more frequently than I care to admit. I don't stress over it or force myself to finish it. I simply stick it in the Unfinished Project drawer and move on to the next project.
Surprisingly, a few weeks (or months) later, I'll pull it out, admire it, and wonder why I didn't finish it the first time around. Give yourself a break, this is suppose to be fun LOL

I'm ALWAYS REALLY HAPPY when I finish a quilt top. It doesn't take long to get tired of it for me and I am ready for the next one.

Yes I have had that experience. However, when I went back to it over a year later, I finished the blocks, sandwiched it, did some quilting embellishments and applique. It is now ready to bind. When you have finished yours, you will be very satisfied, as I am that the idea was a complete surprise.

"Boredom" happens, even with quilting. Why not finish and give it to a local organization to raffle off?

I have a quilt that just matches your description. It was a quilt I started at a retreat. It just didn't turn out like imagined it would. I finished the top and I am giving it to a friend to quilt for me. I told her to have fun with the quilting. You can't hurt it.

I don't recall ever working on a quilt that I did not like while working on it or after it was finished.
