New here; worthwhile to save worn out quilts?

I was going to try to restore an old quilt and a friend told me that by the time I finished it something else would fall apart. Then my mil said to cut up the quilt and frame the pieces and give each frame to family. They turned out great!

I remember her telling me which parts of the quilt belonged to whoever's shirt (my dad or his brothers). Of course i can't remember those details but it's amazing she could some 70 years later. She was an amazing woman!
I just wish it looked as clean as your samples, this is made with 100's of very small triangles etc...about 1/3 is worn thin or gone.
