Our soft-coated Wheaten terrier had lots of skin problems. The vet prescribed 1/2 tablet of Tameril (Sp) to counteract the itch. It worked with no side effects. He was fine as long as he took the tabs.

my daughter's cat was allergic to all over-the-counter pet foods. she had to buy her cat special food from the vet at $$$$. but the scratching did go away very soon. now she mixes in some commercial food to cut the cost a little.

Oh my gosh! Our boxer got hives once and the vet said to give her benadryl. It made it worse! Her whole side was all puffy and itchy and red. Poor, poor baby! We never did find out what caused it.

Some dogs scratch and bite out of boredome. A mild anti-anxiety would help if it's this---and you could try it easily.

the pollen count is really high. From I understand, dogs can be bothered by any allergen people can. What about her food? Maybe a grain allergy?

fl is a high allergie state for dogs we have ours dogs in vet all the time she gave us a spray and we changed food to iams (lamb and rice) and lil one get benadryl

Like i said I don't have a dog but I must be an animal lover because i have spent all day trying to remember the name of this company. They used to send me catalogs about 10 years ago. They sell a supplement just for this condition.

my husband found a spray recipe online that has worked for our Akita (hot spots) and for my nephews pit bull (allergies), both of them would scratch themselves raw. it's - 1 cup 3% hydrogen peroxide, 2 cups water, & 4 tablespoons of Borax powder. we spray it on her and let it dry, it has worked very well for both of the dog. And my nephews Pit no longer has to wear a cone lol

Dry skin, if you have some Skin So Soft by avon and next bath use it and it will help.

She could have an allergy to grass, my neighbors dog can't go any where near grass without scratching like crazy. Try an oatmeal shampoo for dogs with dry and itchy skin, if you can't find it for dogs Aveeno (for people)has one that works the same.
