I agree with you Emerald.
I am a MIL and I have a girl I am teaching to quilt. She is not my DIL but she calls me MOM. She just made me a small wall hanging. I am a quilter and never would frame it.
But if the MIL isn't a quilter she probably thought that was the best way to keep dust off of it to keep it perfect for ever. Feel honored that she wants nothing to happen to it. And that she loves you enough to want to keep it in the same condition as the day you gave it to her.

I guess I shouldn't feel ungrateful about it. I just think that spending $225.00 to have it framed and matted was too much money to spend. But then again, it's not my money....

I really like your wall hanging. I'm a mother in law and I think she framed it because she loved it! LOL! It looks to me like it's worth framing. Thanks for sharing.

I have a Stack-n-Whack book. I will look for it and let you know the name of the book.

It is very pretty. I'm sure she framed it because she treasures it.

She had it framed because it is a work of art!

Beautiful, what an original idea!

She must really love it. Sometimes, it is hard to find matching fabrics. Her choice really pops some of the butterfly colors, though, and it is in the correct tone family.

It is stunning! I LOVE it.
