Need help in figuring out size of triangles...

I know I may just be adding to the confusion about shapes, but... if you are making hexagons, they fit together without having to add anything to the corners. That's what makes up a OBW. Of course you may want to frame your hexagons instead. Not sure what you're looking for.

Yes I am actually trying to frame them. I watched an old show the other day, and monkey see, monkey do so...I want to fussy cut 6 inch hexagons and by adding the triangles, turn them into diamonds and sew the rows together. The quilt I say was and I Spy quilt and I just need to try it for myself.
