I am still planning my route but I should know just about where it will lead me. I have biking maps and a really detailed map including rural routes that I am using. I am absolutely going stir crazy sitting here in the house during the day although I do get up at 4am to go out to the studio and work until it gets warm (a/c is out in the studio :( ) and then I come in. So that gives me time to study the maps and see what is the best way to get to where I am going.

And I would go ahead and fix the a/c but I am tearing down the thing and starting over with central heat and air so I am roughing it for the next few weeks.

Billy, hope you have a safe trip. I rode RAGBRAI last summer. It was a great time. Chamois Cream becomes your best friend. Wish I could join you. Stay safe!

Boy, this sounds like a real challenge and enjoyable trip for you Billy!

Have fun and if you can take a digital camera... take some pictures!! :)

get ahold of the local bike shops in the area you are riding and they may be able to help you out on those back roads you are looking for.

Billy, I believe that snake bite was much more serious than anyone knew! I think you need to get an ultrasound of your brain waves before this adventure starts! Or maybe it is a disease we are all going to end up with -- something to do with the vintage sewing machine bug we all got bit with?

I'm all for adventure, but I see the bikers here on our narrow roads and they scare me!

Be safe and keep us all informed on your progress!
