If you want something easy - Yellow Brick Road. I made one in greens and pinks for my granddaughter and she loves it.

I think so too and let her try to do some of the quilting!!!

My next door neighbor is always making quilts for family members - lots of age groups too. She typically uses the Turning 20 scrap pattern. It works up pretty fast with nice variety of colors. As mentioned, ask her for 2-3 colors she likes.

Colors in bright batons or a quilt made with black and white with one other color like bright blue or bright red. Then you can use a simple pattern and the fabrics will make they quilt. My grand daughter loved one I made that was si
Ple blocks with batons when she was ten. Then at twelve she wanted one with black and white fabrics with splashes if red. On that one we put minkie on the back and she loved it.

Maybe have her help you pick out the fabrics and then let you do the quilt. I am doing that for a 92 year old friend soon.........she'll help me pick out fabric she likes and I'll come up with a pattern and make it. I'm clueless what a particular 12 year old or 92 year old would love....lol

My 12 year old likes lots of bright colors. I know she is past any type of characters or animals.

Yes, I'd find out her interests and favorite colors- I made a warm wishes quilt for a 12 year old last year, I think the print and the colors are of the most importance.

My 14 year old grand daughter likes all the above colors but with black for sashing etc. We saw a quilt with these colors and it was georgous. She immediately told me that was the colors whe would like her next quilt to be.
