I have a friend who washes her quilts, but then irons them before giving them away!

I love the way everything plumps up & besides it has had hands all over it & drapped on the floor while quilting & you can find so nasty little seams you missed.

I prewash all my fabric and quilt on a quilt frame mounted on four boards so not really handling the quilt to much except for the binding. I really don't like to wash before giving away because it looks like it has been used. Just my opinion.No pets whatsoever in my house and no smokers.

This is REALLY a dumb question: HOW do you press a quilt after it is completed? Once I pressed the binding after it was done and it seems so flat after that. :oops:
Be careful with pressing if you use a polyester batt

YIKES !!!!!!!! I made 2 quilts, 1 each for my daughters and did not wash them...................Should I ask for them back and wash them for them??? I feel awful after reading all your replies. DUH!!!
